From Darrell Dumaresq (son/of Bill, s/o Frank, s/o Joe, g-s/o Perry): "Jo and I were thinking of something to send you, we recalled you asking for a pic of Frank and Maude (your great grand parents) I can't remember whether you wanted it or Anne (Cameron) did. Anyway here's the original. ... It's really a striking pic. They were certainly dressed for a very formal event and carry it off well. I wonder if the pearls Maude has on are those that son "Bill" brought back from the Orient when he was "cabin boy" on the Princess of Asia (Empress of Asia). I think that's the right name." "Love from all of us and especially me! Dad xxoo"
Thanks Dad! (Love from … especially me!)
I came across these notes on Maude, Frank's wife She lived at 4143 W. 12th, but earlier on the 1800 block of West 5th (all of the Dumaresqs lived within about two blocks until ca 1930). She came to Vancouver on November 13, 1866, with her brother Albert William Mahoney who lived at 1508 9th St. W. in New Westminster, and her half-brother Samuel H. Walker, who lived at 266 9th St. E. North Vancouver. Mother thinks they came from Ireland, but she had no accent "A nice lady". Died September 25, 1965 at 82 yrs. I guess they were orphaned; she couldn't have been very old, perhaps 3.Maude's brother Albert married Jan. 7 1920 to Nellie Cobban (Baillie). Samuel Henry Walker married Janet Marie Colbourn on November 20, 1906. Ann
